Dr. Gene Michael Donaldson’s motto is “God’s work, done in God’s way will never lack God’s provisions”. During his twenty (20) plus years of dedicated service in the Allegheny East Conference, he has labored to prove the truth of this statement. Dedicated, compassionate, visionary, dynamic speaker, advisor, fun loving friend, strong, hard working, humble, determined and community minded are some of the qualities that describe him.

Dr. Donaldson is a native of Washington, D.C. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from Hampton University, a Master’s of Divinity from Andrews University, and a Doctor of Ministry from Andrews University. His special ministry focus includes pastoral leadership, equipping laity for ministry, and relational witnessing.

Pastor Donaldson has distinguished himself as an effective pastor, evangelist, church planter, and administrator. He has been privileged to preach this last mercy message in England, Africa, Bermuda, Canada, and extensively across the United States. Many persons have been touched by his sermons, taught in his workshops, and changed by his seminars.

He has enjoyed pastorates in the Franklin/Williamsburg district in Virginia, Mt. Sinai Seventh-day Adventist Church in Trenton, New Jersey, the historic Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church in Richmond, Virginia. He currently ministers at the Capitol Hill SDA church in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Donaldson has received numerous awards and commendations, including the Pastor of the Year award for service in Prison Ministry, the Virginia State Legislature outstanding chaplaincy service award, the 5th District Civic Council outstanding community service award, and special recognition by the Mayor of the City of Richmond for his vision and leadership in developing community based ministries.

Pastor Donaldson is married to the former Barbara Carter. Barbara is a public school principal. They have two children from their union; Dawn Michelle, a practicing attorney, and Trevor, a Software Engineer.

The Lord has tremendously blessed his ministry, bolstering his unwavering belief that "God’s work, done in God’s way, will never lack God’s provisions."
